Celebrate Diversity—Dining Around the World Event on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Atwater Cafetorium. Come celebrate Atwater’s Diversity and dine with International Olympic Spirit! We have planned a wonderful, free dining event for the entire Atwater School community that will incorporate the timely Olympic theme! Expect great food, great entertainment and making new friends from around the world in our own backyard! At minimum, bring your family and contribute an ethnic food item to our potluck meal. Also consider bringing an artifact from your culture for our “artifact table” and consider performing a cultural dance, song and/or instrument (parents and children invited to perform) If performing appeals to you, please contact Lalitha Murali at (414) 906-1899 after 5:00 p.m. or email at lalithamurali94@yahoo.com so she can schedule you in.

School Board Election - April 6
An election will be held on April 6 to elect two School Board members. There will not be a primary election in February. Candidates running for the School Board are John Carlton (inc.), Linda Jacobi, Colin Plese and Rob Reinhoffer. The seats are currently held by Carlton and long-time Board Member, Nancy Bornstein who has chosen not to run again.

Calendar & New Schedule - Early Dismissal Wednesdays:
This year there will be early dismissal every Wednesday. Click here to learn more about the District's professional development plan. Please click here for the full school year bell/hours schedule. Should early dismissal provide childcare needs, the Shorewood Recreation Department is offering “I can’t wait for Wednesday early dismissal childcare.”

Volunteering:
Parent Volunteers needed to work in the lunchroom and outside during lunch recess. The time is from 12:10pm-1:00pm each day.
